Likemind 11/30

Next Austin Likemind is on Friday 11/30 @ Genuine Joe's.

Note the change in location. Last month it was a wee bit chilly for drinking coffee outside, so this month we're using our noggin and we're taking it indoors just in case the temperature drops a little.

In January, we'll be back to normal schedules. Likemind is normally held every 3rd Friday.

Austin Jelly 11/15

Trend Alert: Jelly

Jelly is a casual co-working environment that started in NYC February 2006 when roommates Amit and Luke realized that they loved working from home, but they missed the creative brainstorming, sharing, and camaraderie of a traditional office.

So they started inviting friends to come work from their home one day a week. They soon found that working in close proximity to new and interesting people every couple weeks resulted in new ideas and interesting conversations. From here, Jelly was born.

Jelly is this casual co-working atmosphere (without the office politics - sweet!). And Austin's 2nd Jelly will be on 11/15. See you there.

A Little Matt Nathanson on a Tuesday

Yeah! Made it to the Matt show with Jen. Highly recommend checking out Matt Nathanson next time he's in your hometown. Fantastically entertaining show every time.

Oh, and the 2 opening acts - Ingrid Michaelson & Melee
pretty much rocked the house down Tuesday night @ The Parrish as well.

Sweet job guys.
Here are some other pics from the night.

Austin Event Worth Noting: Pecha Kucha 10/25

New event in Austin for the creative minds and admirers in the area. Pecha Kucha begun in Tokyo in 2003 as a controlled creative convergence of designers, architects and other designers and artists. In Japanese, "pecha kucha" is a phrase meaning chit-chat. Similar to Likemind, Pecha Kucha gathers likeminded people to share thoughts and stimulating conversation; the difference with Pucha Kucha events is that a select group of about 10 presenters are invited to show their work in short formats (20 slides/20 seconds per slide). The analogy they use is speed dating, but more fun. I will be attending this Thursday's Austin Pecha Kucha so I will have more to share with you then. Never been to speed dating so don't know if the previous analogy will hold true or not.
